RACING CANCELLED

As a result of branch meeting on Tuesday night, it was voted that racing on Sunday, 15th August 2010 would be cancelled due to insufficient numbers.

 Alternative dates will be advised in due course and details will be uploaded to the website when available.

New Racing Requirements

The only boats homologated for racing in TRCA sanctioned events are listed below:

  • Ceasar

  • Aquariusw

  • Mako

  • Gemini (SA only)

  • Thundercat (SA only)

Engine sealing for Sydney:  Mick Davey, Qld:  Rob Thomas.

Only Homologated engines:  D2 engines and blocks, no D blocks.

The only prop guards approved for Nationals this year are:  Midcoast Marine
standard guard and Marty Robinson standard guard and new TRCA number stamped and recorded guard ( when available ).

There is to be no hydrofoiling of veins or ring-band, only 1.5 radius on front and back of veins and ring-band, minimum veins 11mm x 3mm, minimum ring-band 50 mm.

 

For next seasons Nationals the only approved prop guard will be the new TRCA guard and for every TRCA sanctioned event there-on, no other guard will be approved for TRCA sanctioned events after next seasons Nationals.

  EFTPOS machine (please try to avoid bringing cash).

Long haul course will be decided on the day (conditions will apply). 

Please bring:

  • Surf Cross and Long Haul gear.
  • 2 tanks of fuel (40 litres in total) for 1 fuel change.
  • Completed entry and membership forms.
  • Credit or Debit Cards as we now have cordless

  EFTPOS machine (please try to avoid bringing cash).

Please note no entries will be accepted after 7.30am.

You will be given further directions/instructions at the boat ramp.

QLD ROUNDS 1 AND 2 HELD AT SALT BEACH, KINGSCLIFF

There was big surf with big crowds and a great location for two days of spectacular racing.

Thanks to the following people:

  •  Salt SLSC – Angus and David Hoare (President) for First Aid and gear transport.
  • Advance Rentals for compressor (donation).
  • Starters and officials – Kai, Danny and Chris (Lola).
  • Doug for his management contributions.
  • Scorers – Steph and Katie (thanks heaps, you’re doing a great job!)
  • RD – John Kerrisk from Neptune Marine.
  • Joel for starting the races.
  • Members who pitched in to make the day a success.

Meet at the boat ramp at Moss Street, Kingscliff near Faulks Park at 7.00am ready for scrutineering. 

Please bring:

  • Surf Cross and Long Haul gear.
  • Completed entry and membership forms.
  • Credit or Debit Cards as we now have cordless

  EFTPOS machine (please try to avoid bringing cash).

Please note no entries will be accepted after 7.30am.

CLUB ROUND SOUTHPORT SPIT

At last the weather and conditions co-operated for our first event for 2010.

Thanks to the eleven teams that competed and also the teams that turned up just to help.  After last year's performance the Club members have shown that this looks set to be our best year yet!

Thanks also to the people who make these events possible:  Katie, Steph, Doug, Graeme and the Club Members who pitched in to get gear on and off the beach and also set up and strip down for the event.  Keep up the great work and attitude, it's great to see!

We have received Council and Waterways approval to race at Salt Beach, Kingscliff on 8-9 May 2010.  These two days will go towards the Qld Rounds and for those requiring accommodation please check out the following links:

Racing at Phillip Park, Southport Spit on Sunday, 18th April 2010.  

We will meet at Seaworld Boat Ramp for motor scrutineering at 7.00am.  Race entry fees are $60 per boat.  Please have your entry form completed to save us some time. 

Please note:

  • All safety gear must be worn. This includes life jackets, wet suits, helmets that are 75% bright yellow or orange and cover the jaw, spare kill switch, propguard, prop blades must be within the prop-guard, roll over ropes, 20m of at least 8mm rope, boat rego.
  • The water is considered to be a race course for the entire day and is controlled by the officer of the day (RD).
  • No boat is allowed to leave the beach during the day without the RD permission. Even after a roll over you must have permission.
  • Boats at all times must move in an anti-clock wise direction around the race course. This includes warm ups setting the course etc.
  • Helmets and lifejackets must be worn at all times when in the boat. This includes practice, warm ups and getting your boat to the start line. 

There will be a Club meeting held after the event. 

Racing at Salt Beach (Salt Festival) on 8 – 9 May 2010 We have received Maritime approval for this event but are still waiting on Council approval.

Racing at Phillip Park - Sunday, 7th March - CANCELLED.

 

Please be advised that unfortunately we need to cancel racing this

Sunday due to weather conditions on the coast. 

We will still meet at Seaworld Boat Ramp at 8.00am for a social run,

sign-on and a brief meeting.

Please advise me if you plan to attend as we need to know how many

plan to participate in the run.

NOTICE OF NEXT GENERAL MEETING

DATE:         THURSDAY, 11TH FEBRUARY 2010

TIME:         6.00PM FOR 6.30PM START

1.     Election of Office Bearers.

2.    Race Calendar.

3.    Special Events:
-  Super GP
-  Redcliffe
-  The Salt Festival @ Salt, Kingscliffe

4.    National Titles / Qld Titles / Point System.

5.    Flares still for sale:  $55 / set.

6.    Gear:  
-  4 x radios replaced (left out in weather).
-  6 covers bought.
-  small floats with rope will be attached to buoys to assist with lifting.

7.    Mobile EFTPOS machine for payment of race fees etc.

8.    Neptune donation from prop guard sales and foot protector sales in Qld:  $350.00.

9.    4WD to transport 2 trailers on and off the beach.

Happy New Year to all Thundercat enthusiasts! 

 

Please be advised that the first event for the year will be held at Phillip Park, Southport Spit on Sunday, 7th February 2010. 

 

We will meet at Seaworld Boat Ramp for motor scrutineering at 7.00am. 

 

Memberships are due at $170.00 for 12 months and race entry fees are $60 per boat.  Please have your membership and entry form completed to save us some time.

Please note:
